The afternoon weather was perfect for leisurely bike ride. The bike ride from Burgess Hill went through the village of Wivelsfield and then on towards Plumpton Green. A brief stop was made at the RAF Chailey Memorial dedicated to brave airmen who fought gallantly and gave their lives during World War II. The memorial is adjacent to the solitary Plough Inn which judging by the cars parked outside was busy with patrons. Even though these were country roads, I was surprised to see many motor vehicles traveling. Not sure why two Porsches were chasing each other on a country road!
After the memorial, the rickety path took us towards Burgess Hill. A bold pheasant walked across the road and disappeared in the thick vegetation on the side of the road. From here on, it was to Burgess Hill with a stop at St John's Park, home ground to Burgess Hill Cricket Club.
Cheers!
