Meadowstreet Cottage - Ditchling Village Loop from Wivelsfield

May 13, 2024

First adventure on my bike exploring beautiful Sussex country side.  The route encompassed a mix of main roads, dirt paths and very muddy paths which came as an unwelcomed surprise to me.  All in all, the natural air and the scenery of the distant South Downs was breathtakingly beautiful.

Bevern Stream Ford/Bridge

Some of the highlights included Bevern Stream Ford with a pedestrian bridge (I dashed through the compliant stream), a local Vineyard and the Oldland Windmill - adjacent to which is a large and glorious house (probably a listed building).

Along Vineyard

Saw a train just go over the viaduct

Two little dogs were brave enough to run away from the two teenage girls who were walking them and much to their horror decided to dash into muddy puddle.  Perhaps it was their way of suggesting a bath may be in order later in the evening.

Need to plan the next trip so that the muddy paths can be avoided.

Cheers!
